First is built so there is almost nothing to write here. The app keeps everything on your iPhone. The website keeps one thing, your email address, and only if you gave it.
The app
First: Seek Before You Scroll stores your settings, the apps you chose to shield, your first name if you typed one, your reading progress, and your highlights and notes on your device, inside the app's own storage. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no server, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. The only copy that exists outside your phone is the one inside your own iCloud or computer backup, which Apple encrypts and we cannot read.
Screen Time. First asks for Screen Time (Family Controls) permission so it can shield the apps you pick and open them again when a reading is finished. Apple hands the app opaque tokens for those apps, not their names, and First never sees which apps you use or for how long. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings › Screen Time, and "Turn off First" inside the app removes every shield it created.
Purchases. First Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase. Apple processes the payment and holds the receipt; First keeps only a local yes/no that Pro is unlocked. We never see your payment details.
Notifications. If you allow them, First schedules reminders locally on your phone. Nothing is sent from a server, and you can turn them off in Settings at any time.
Deleting it. "Erase everything" in the app's settings deletes your readings, progress, and answers. Deleting the app deletes the rest. Because nothing is stored with us, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, and nothing to request.
The website
If you joined the waitlist at firstdaily.app, we store your email address withResend, the service that sends our emails, so we can send product updates. We do not sell or share it. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list; to have the address deleted entirely, write to hello@firstdaily.app and we will delete it within 30 days.
The site is served by Cloudflare. We run no analytics and set no tracking cookies.
Children
First is for adults managing their own phone. It is not a parental-control product and it is not directed at children under 13; we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
